Idiots

So, I should have posted this long ago, but the damn ‘hacking’ of Matt was all a complete lie!

I can’t believe I was soooo gullible to believe him, like seriously, I read my posts now and don’t see how I could have been so stupid.

See, Sara found out a month or so after this incident, that it was indeed Matt and Andrew that set up the whole thing.

Andrew posed as ‘me’ and Matt was talking to him over msn giving him ideas of what to post. The damn jerks.

Like seriously. They still don’t know that I know it was them, but I’m not even sure that they remember doing it anyways. I waited too long to get back at them.

Oh well, at least I know not to be as gullible next time.

The Mystery Solved…

…Or at least solved for the most part. You can’t actually say something’s solved if you don’t have hard evidence, a suspect, or even a witness.

My freaking out yesterday seems to be, not all for none, but all for the wrong reason. See, it wasn’t a friend that was doing the whole Facebook incident, it was a hacker. However, it wasn’t me being hacked.

It was MATT!

Matt figures that some person was trying to encrypt his account, and was succeeding at one point. The theory is this:

Hacker (I’ll call him H), H starts hacking Matt. He gets as far as to see what Matt can see. From this H can see my conversation with Matt. He gets an idea, impersonate me to get to Matt. So, H starts digging into my profile as much as he can. With his limited access all H can get is my profile picture, name, and a few other little things.

Because of H’s digging into my profile, my Facebook status goes wonky and Matt’s and Andrews comments don’t come up, then after H is done, they slowly start coming back. However, Facebook picks up on the hack and deletes all the comments just to be safe.

Meanwhile, Sara and I are chatting away with Matt, then we say we’re leaving to go to chapters for about 30 mins. H sees his chance and creates the imposter account. Then after we leave, H starts talking to Matt on that account, Matt not seeing the difference because the picture and name were the same so why check the profile.

H obviously hacked to add Matt as a friend, Zach said that he added ‘me’ himself, who knows about Evan tho. (Matt said Zach and Evan were on his top friends list, so that would be why H added them) Anyways, Matt said while we were gone he looked at old stuff on his profile and saw something about Sara liking Michael Buble. Which we believe is where H got the idea to send Sara the photo of Michael, because H knew Sara was with me at the time.

So, we get back home, start talking to Matt again, yadda yadda, comments are made by imposter for fun. Sara and I foil his plan by reporting the account. And so, Matt didn’t get fully hacked, I was an innocent bystander that was used, and everything fits into place.

Now the only way to prove this wrong, is for someone to show up with the real culprit. For now we’re sticking with this, and case is closed!

FREAKING OUT!!!

So, today will mark the FREAKIEST DAY OF MY LIFE!!!

I’m on Facebook talking with Matt, him and Andrew start commenting on a status I made. First strange thing, after the first few posts they start disappearing and after a while I couldn’t see any of them. Then 30 mins later they slowly started to show up as if just posted then.

Anyways, Sara and I decide to go to Chapters quickly, so we tell Matt we’ll be right back. We leave at about 8:40pm, we get back around 9:25pm. Start talking to Matt again who immediately wonders what we’re talking about because we started talking to him again on Facebook not 20 mins ago, saying we decided not to go to chapters, then left 5 mins ago and just came back on.

We’re sitting here thinking Matt’s joking around, so we insist that we’ve been gone almost an hour now. Matt starts telling us not to joke around, that he has to conversation to prove it although there’s nothing coming up on my side of the chat. That when things get really weird.

First, “I” apparently post on Matt’s wall asking if he’s going to anthropology class tomorrow. However, I didn’t, even though it’s my name, profile picture, and everything. So Sara and I start freaking out, wondering what the heck is going on and how my profile is posting these things without it being actually me doing it. Then Matt goes off on some tangent about Computer ghosts.

THEN, CREEPIEST THING EVER! “I” post another thing on Matt’s wall “So you think I’m a ghost do you? Well I’m very real.”

I’m on the verge of tears, Sara’s freaking out, Matt’s trying to keep me calm. I don’t understand how this person could be seeing my chat with Matt while I’m on Facebook. I’m also talking to Zach on msn and he says that “I” posted something on his Facebook too and the comment was there when I looked.

Zach then tells me there’s two Amy’s and sure enough, when I search it up, there’s another Amy with only three friends; Zach, Evan, and Matt. Meaning the glitch that I thought was a glitch wasn’t (I had gotten home from Chapters and had a friend request from myself; which I ignored). So, when I tell Matt he deny’s ever accepting being that person’s friend (that he hadn’t had any friend requests in weeks). So I don’t know what’s going on at this point. All I know was that somehow, there’s this person that’s got a profile like mine (with the wrong birthdate I might add), and can somehow see my chat with Matt.

I’m trying to figure out what to do so I end up reporting them as an imposter and as soon as I refresh my page, everything related to them is gone, absolutely gone, the profile, the comments, everything. I don’t understand it! I didn’t think that disabling someone was so fast and so thorough.

Anyways, so Sara and I start thinking that maybe it was Matt after all and that he had a friend with him, that made the account, could see what Matt was typing, and knew I had an anthropology class with him. It was very plausible.

So, I text Matt asking if he’s hanging out with anyone. Meanwhile, Sara goes home and calls me asking if I sent her a message on Facebook with a picture of Michael Buble. Which I didn’t, thankfully that was back when the imposter was still unreported. However, Sara never accepted any friend requests either, so there was no way someone could have sent her that message.

Matt texts me back saying that he’s only there with his sister, who would not do that kind of thing, so our idea was out.

List of things unspoken for:

1. Messages sent without accepting friend requests

2. Ability to see private conversation in chat window as it’s happening

3. Knowledge of my Anthropology class with Matt

4. Speedy disappearance, comments and all

So, I have no idea who it might have been, nor how they did it, nor why they did it when they did nothing to my account; didn’t change the password, didn’t delete things, didn’t do anything inappropriate. All they did was leave a couple harmless comments. It makes no sense, and the only person I think may have done it is Andrew, but I asked if he did it and he denied it saying he was building a desk the whole time.

I’m at a loss, and this is definitely the freakiest day of my life…
